Commemorating the 101th Anniversary of National Fire Fighters, Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Department commits to improve its service for public.

Jakarta Gulkarmat Department Head, Satriadi Gunawan conveyed, it is his responsibility to give a sense of security from the dangers of fire by providing fire prevention service, fire handling service, and rescue.
For fire prevention in settlement, his side gives fire socialization and education by empowering the locals and Dasa Wisma in ensuring houses are safe from fire.

His side also ensured that Jakarta Gulkarmat Department will improve training regarding building fire safety management (MKKG), provide consultation regarding building safety techniques, and monitored fire safety during construction phase.
"We also provide technical recommendations for fire safety for the issuance of Eligibility Certificate and Fire Safety Certificate," he said.
In 2018-2019, he continued, Jakarta Gulkarmat Department has handled 3,934 fire cases in total with 1,751 fire cases in 2018 and 2,183 fire cases in 2019.
"From January to February 27, 2020, we have handled 243 fire cases," he added.
Related to rescue service, Jakarta Gulkarmat Department has handled 3,469 cases in the past two years, with total 1,217 cases in 2018 and 2,252 cases in 2019.
Not only in Jakarta, his side also contributed in providing assistance in post-disaster handling in various regions throughout Indonesia by sending equipment and personnel assistance.
"This service also includes assistance in transportation, collapsed building, water territory, rescue in different heights, B3, emergency, animals, fallen trees, and others," he mentioned.
His side expects all Gulkarmat personnel can improve their skills and professionalism in doing their work thus it can lead to optimal result.
"In implementing the program, we need to improve our collaboration. Thus our commitment as firefighter is not only about preparation but also territorial empowerment," he asserted.
